Accessibility and Safety
The website for our venue is: https://www.actorseast.com/findus
There is a flight of 5 steps down into the studio.
The larp will have an offgame space for anyone who needs it, and the organizers will be on hand to offer help and support if that's wanted.
We will be using simple safety techniques in order for people to choose the level of intensity of their larp, and to exit scenes or leave the larp entirely if they feel that they need to. We want to create a culture of safety where players support each other.
The actual larp does not require excessive physical movement and participants will always be able to sit during time in. Ableism will not be a feature of play. We will send people audio or large print versions of character sheets if they require it. We also accept audio signups - please email us at the address below.
We will ask participants to bring their own food. Anything you wish to share should be labelled in case of food allergies. We will let people know if there is an ingredient that it's unsafe to include at all.
No alcohol should be drunk during the larp.

Covid-19 safety
We are expecting everyone who attends The Discovery of Witches – participants and organizers – to either be fully vaccinated for more than two weeks, or to have had a negative covid test within the last 48 hours. If there is a medical or other reason why this isn’t possible for you, please get in touch with us privately at larpsonlocation@gmail.com.
We also require participants to take responsibility for their own health, and to not attend the larp if they have symptoms of covid, regardless of vaccination status. Please see our policy about refunds due to covid here.
We are not mandating mask use at the larp: if we reach a situation where mandatory mask use seems advisable for such a gathering, then we will cancel the larp. However, people attending are welcome to wear masks if they wish.
There is no in-larp necessity for people to be in close physical contact. Anyone who wishes to preserve a 1-metre distance from others will have an opportunity to communicate that during the workshop, and there is enough space to make that possible. If people wish to hug, shake hands, etc, then they should check offgame whether the other person is happy to do so. We will allow time for calibration around physical touch in the workshops.
The venue is an enclosed room which is ventilated via its doors. We will make sure that all common surfaces are sanitized before the start of the larp – either by them, or by us. Any props that we bring will be sanitized before the start of the larp. We will also sanitize during the day, as requirement suggests and opportunity permits. Hand sanitizer will be available for people’s personal use at all times.
If you as a participant have any further thoughts about precautions that we can take, please do get in touch with us at larpsonlocation@gmail.com. This is a new world of larping, and we need to share thoughts and resources together in order to protect each other.
